Skyla Hagan completed the cycle with a game-ending RBI double Tuesday, Sept. 15, lifting Mustang to a 15–5 softball victory over Edmond Santa Fe in six innings at the Mustang High School Softball Complex.

Hagan went 4-for-4 with a walk and five RBIs, hitting a grand slam in the second inning, a single in the fourth, and a triple and double in the sixth. Her final hit gave the Broncos a 10-run lead and capped a seven-run inning that also featured a three-run homer by senior pinch hitter Murray.

The Senior Night finish followed an early challenge from Santa Fe, which scored three runs in the first. Mustang got one back when Hagan walked, advanced on Riley Jeffries’ double and scored on a wild pitch.

River Mount relieved starter Jenna Poage with one out and two runners aboard in the second. She stranded both runners, keeping Mustang within 3–1 before the Broncos’ offense took over.

An RBI single and a run-scoring fielder’s choice tied the game in the bottom of the second. McCorvey’s bunt single and Jade Ashbaugh’s single loaded the bases for Hagan, whose grand slam put Mustang ahead 7–3.

Santa Fe answered with a solo homer in the third, but Mustang restored its four-run advantage on a sacrifice fly in the fourth. Mount and the defense helped protect the lead. McCorvey made a sliding stop near the left-field line in the fifth and threw back to the infield to help retire a runner attempting to take an extra base. Maddie Smith added a diving catch in center field in the sixth.

Santa Fe cut the lead to 8–5 on a two-out infield single in the sixth. Mustang answered with its biggest inning of the night.

Hagan led off with a triple, and the Broncos scored three times before Murray sent a three-run homer to deep center. Her teammates greeted her at home plate as Mustang’s lead grew to 14–5.

After a groundout and an Ashbaugh walk, Hagan returned to the plate needing a double to complete the cycle. She drove the ball off the wall, reached second and brought home the final run.

Mount allowed two runs over the final 4⅔ innings. Hagan was named MHS Bronco Sports’ player of the game.
